What Should You do Before Getting a skin treatment?

-
Be aware your skin may be a little red immediately following any facial skin treatment – this is normal and to be expected. Any redness will clear up within 24-48hrs, Micro-needling/PRP treatments can take up to 5 days.
-
Remove all Jewellery before your facial.
-
Remove all makeup (if possible) before you come in for your treatment.
-
Stop all facial acids AHA/BHA’s (glycolic, salicylic, lactic etc) for a week before your treatment.
-
Stop Vitamin A (retinol, retinal, tretinoin etc) for a week before your treatment.
-
Please make us aware of any medications that you may be on – We will need to make sure that the treatment can still go ahead safely. If you’re using an oral medication that’s known to thin the skin (such as Roaccutane), it’s recommended that you discontinue use up to 6 months before getting a facial treatment.
-
Don’t wax or shave (up to 48 hours) before any skin treatment. Hair removal can make your skin feel more sensitive, so you’re likely to experience discomfort (like tingling or stinging) during the treatment if you’ve waxed or shaved beforehand.
-
We cannot treat sunburnt/windburned skin.
-
We cannot treat you if you have an active cold sore
-
Wear something comfortable. You will be asked to remove your top half before the treatment starts.
-
Don’t wash your hair before your facial, it's likely to get products on it.
-
Don’t over-exfoliate in the two or three days leading up to it. Since most facials include an exfoliating treatment anyway, it’s important not to let your skin become too sensitive before its properly buffed clean.
-
We cannot treat you if you have cuts, bruises or scabs present on the area being treated
-
Know your at-home products. you will be asked about your daily skincare routine. If you’re concerned about your skin, we can give you better-informed advice about what you should be using to tackle the issue; it may be that one or more of your products isn’t the best for your skin type, so it’s worth having a mental checklist/photo of what you use every day.
-
Please come to your appointment on your own.
-
If you are over 10 minutes late to your treatment, we will not be able to treat you.

PLEASE NOTE:
If any of these rules are not followed, We will not be able proceed with the treatment on the day, and you will be charged the full amount.
What Should You Do Afterwards?
To get the most out of your facial, there are a few key things to remember:

-
Don’t pick your skin! Ideally, shouldn’t do this anyway, but you really need to avoid picking at your skin after getting a facial.
-
Do not wash your hair the night of treatment
-
You may experience a little erythema (redness) this is completely normal.
-
Don't wear heavy makeup after your facial, if you can wait 24hrs.
-
Please ensure your makeup brushes & sponges have been cleaned.
-
Wear a minimum of SPF30. Everyday & Re-apply every 2 hours.
-
Cleanse your skin before you go to sleep, you will have SPF on from your facial treatment
-
Don’t restart any acids/retinoids for a week post treatment.
-
Avoid heat treatments for the next 24hrs, your skin will be more prone to irritation directly after treatment
